Kalogria Beach(Calogria Beach)

Located between the coastal villages of Nikiti and Neos Marmaras on the northwestern coast of the Sithonia peninsula in Greece, Kalogria Beach - also known as Mango Beach - is a 500-meter-long popular beige sand beach with many rocky portions.  The beach is positioned in a sheltered inlet along the Toroneos Gulf and has a beautiful backdrop of unique rocky formations, forested mountains, a few beachfront bars, and several hotels, which together provide incredible views of Queen Zvezdana's Island and the Aegean Sea.

Kalogria Beach offers many amenities, including lifeguards, shady areas, restrooms, showers, changing rooms, a beach equipment rental facility, beach bars with parasols, sunbed rental facilities, and nearby hotels.  It is important to note that visitors have to pay 40 euros for renting a set of sunbeds with a parasol, out of which 32 euros can be used for food and drinks, and the rest, eight euros, are charged for the sunbed and a parasol.

Kalogria Beach is a family-friendly beach that offers many fun activities, including sunbathing, swimming, beachcombing, kayaking, sailing, kitesurfing, paddleboarding, hiking, and fishing.  The water near the beach is shallow, which is ideal for canoes, kayaks, and small boats.  If you are planning to go into the water, the waves are usually calm, making it a perfect spot to swim.  If you enjoy snorkeling, the beach offers amazing opportunities to explore the underwater world.  Hikers can enjoy the nearby hiking trails, which offer unique insights into the local biodiversity.  Kalogria Beach is considered a party beach – there is a beach bar named Isla Beach Bar positioned on the left side of the beach that hosts many interesting live events and parties that attract a large influx of younger beachgoers, especially during the weekends.  The beach attracts a large influx of visitors during the summer season.  Dogs are not allowed here, and the beach is open from sunrise until sunset.

Getting to Kalogria Beach is easy - the beach has many street parking spots located along Eparchiaki Odos Nikitis-Sartis 630 88, Greece, which provides easy access to the beach.

There are many attractions near Kalogria Beach.  Petralona Cave has chambers and corridors that feature unique stalactite and stalagmite formations created by the slow dripping of water over thousands of years.  In addition, one of the most notable aspects of the cave is a human skull, popularly known as the “Petralona Skull,” which is believed to be about 700,000 years old, making it one of the oldest human remains in Europe.  Koukos Canyon Trail is a dog-friendly, two-mile-long, moderately challenging hiking trail that meanders through a steep and rocky Koukos Hill where hikers can explore the remains of prehistoric city walls that surround a settlement and that offer incredible views of village Sykia.  The Historical and Folklore Museum of Sarti has a gallery that displays interesting exhibits on the history and culture of the village of Sarti through historic artifacts, photographs, and related memorabilia.   Stone Forest in Greece is a unique natural wonder, consisting of layers of rock formations resembling trees at an altitude of 1,500 meters, formed by the erosion of limestones in an alpine environment.  If you are looking for another nearby attraction, the Temple of Ammon Zeus is an archeological site where visitors can find the ruins of the temple dedicated to the Egyptian god Zeus, which offers a glimpse into the ancient history of the region.

If you get hungry, there are many great restaurants on Kalogria Beach.  Isla Beach Bar is right on the beach, has an outdoor seating area, and serves incredible salads, seafood, meat, and poultry dishes.  Mango Restaurant is another restaurant on the left side of the beach that has outdoor seating areas and serves incredible seafood.  MOA Seaside Beach Bar has an outdoor seating area and serves burgers, sandwiches, salads, pizzas, pasta, seafood, meat, and poultry dishes.  Anchor Foodbar offers an outdoor seating area and serves all-day menus, including amazing eggs, omelets, French toast, pasta, risotto, burgers, sandwiches, pizzas, seafood, meat, and poultry dishes.  If you are looking for another good and affordable nearby restaurant, Melia Restaurant serves amazing Greek food.
