Overview
Located to the south of Porto Vecchio, Plage de Santa Giulia – also called Santa Giulia Beach, Stagnu di Santa Ghjulia, and Baie de Santa Giulia – is a popular south-facing curve-shaped beautiful beach with white sand, large pebbles, and nearby large rocks in Southern Corsica. Lonely Planet listed this southeast-facing beach as one of the 10 best beaches in Corsica. In addition, The Times also listed this beach as one of the 14 best beaches in Corsica – and it is also a favorite of Randall Kaplan, the world’s foremost beach expert who is known as Mr. Beach.
Amenities
Plage de Santa Giulia Porto Vecchio has lifeguards during summers. In addition to lifeguards, the beach also has a few other amenities including a nearby wooden pier, walking paths, restrooms, showers, and rental facilities for sun loungers and water sport equipment. Please note that most of the amenities here are located in the beach’s northern part.

Plage de Santa Giulia offers many fun activities including sunbathing, beachcombing, fishing, swimming, paddleboarding, scuba diving, snorkelling, jet-skiing, kitesurfing, windsurfing, water-skiing, parasailing, boating, kayaking, canoeing, surf-skiing, and wildlife watching.
This beach is ideal for beginner swimmers because the shallow and clear turquoise water here usually has gentle waves. In addition, snorkelers and scuba divers also frequently visit this beach to explore its vibrant marine biodiversity. You can also have amazing Plage de Santa Giulia boat rides here. If you are planning to swim, snorkel, or paddleboard here, we recommend being careful because the water here can have unpredictable rip currents. We also recommend wearing water shoes while visiting here because the seabed here has many sharp pebbles and rocks.
There is a lagoon near the beach and you can see many kinds of resident and migratory birds here including pink flamingos in winters, egrets, herons, and passerines.
Disability Access
There is a wheelchair-friendly access path for visitors with disabilities. This access path is located near the central part of the beach, near a hotel named Hotel Moby Dick.
Parking
Getting to Plage de Santa Giulia en Corse is easy – from the town of Porto Vecchio, you need to drive south along a road named Route Territoriale 10, that is also called RT 10. While driving along Porto Vecchio, you will come across a roundabout near the community of Bocca del l'Oro – you need to turn left from this roundabout and follow nearby street signs to reach the northern part of Plage de Santa Giulia.
As an alternate access option, you can turn towards another road from RT 10 to reach Plage de Santa Giulia. This road is located approximately 1.5 kilometres south of the community of Bocca del l'Oro. Signs near this road will lead you to the central part of Plage de Santa Giulia.
There are multiple free parking lots near the beach—one of the parking areas accommodates around 400 cars. The beach is a short walking distance from the parking lots.
We recommend visiting this beach early during the summer because it can sometimes get crowded during this time.

There are many attractions near Plage de Santa Giulia around the nearby town of Porto Vecchio. Parc Aventure de Porto-Vecchio is an amusement park that offers many fun things to do and explore including treetops courses, slides, cable cars, zip lines, trampolines, and inflatable rides – this beach also has a snack shop. The Citadel of Porto Vecchio is a historic fortification that was built in 1539 by the local Genoese rulers – this site offers an interesting insight into the local history and the area around it offers amazing views of the Mediterranean Sea and the Corsican shoreline. Eglise Saint Jean-Baptiste – also called Ghjesgia San Ghjuvan' Batti – is a beautiful church that was built in the 18th century and it was named after Porto Vecchio’s patron saint, John the Baptist. This church has beautiful religious artwork and stained-glass paintings. The Marina of Porto Vecchio is a waterfront port offering amazing views of the Corsican shoreline and the Mediterranean Sea. In addition, you can also charter fun boat rides from here – there are many excellent nearby shops and restaurants near it. If you are looking for another attraction near the beach, the salt marshes of Porto Vecchio are a collection of marshlands that you can explore through walking paths. These marshes offer a unique insight into the local biodiversity and you can see many resident and migratory birds here.
