Playa El Gringo(Marejadas Beach)

Located in Arica, Chile, Playa el Gringo is a picturesque and serene beach destination. The beach is about 1 kilometer in length and features golden sand with crystal clear waters.

The beach has basic amenities including bathrooms and showers, but there are no lifeguards on duty and dogs are not allowed.

There is a parking lot available near Playa el Gringo which is free to use. However, it can get crowded on weekends and holidays, so plan accordingly.

Fun fact: Playa el Gringo got its name from the large number of foreign surfers who visit the beach.

Apart from surfing, there are several other attractions near the beach including the Archaeological Museum of San Miguel de Azapa, the San Marcos Cathedral, and the El Morro de Arica monument. Visitors can also hike to the top of the Morro de Arica for stunning views of the city and ocean.

There are several restaurants near Playa el Gringo offering a variety of cuisines including seafood and traditional Chilean dishes. Some of the popular restaurants include Maracuya, El Chalán, and El Arriero.
