Hamelin Bay is a picturesque bay and locality located on the southwest coast of Western Australia, between Cape Leeuwin and Cape Naturaliste. It is named after French explorer Jacques Félix Emmanuel Hamelin, who sailed through the area in about 1801. The bay is renowned for its serene open sandy beach, where visitors can often interact with friendly stingrays in their natural habitat.
The area offers stunning natural beauty, with the Cape to Cape Track passing along the beach, making it a unique stop for hikers. Hamelin Bay also features historical elements, such as remnants of an old jetty and connections to past timber milling operations.
Although it is a small settlement, the bay provides amenities like camping sites, which utilize modern facilities, including cabins and chalets, making it a popular spot for tourists exploring the Margaret River Region.
