Thevenard Island

Located off the coast of Exmouth, Western Australia, Thevenard Island boasts stunning beaches and crystal-clear waters. The beach is approximately 1.5 km long and features soft white sand that gently slopes into the water.

Thevenard Island has basic amenities including bathroom access and dogs are allowed on the beach. Please note that there are no lifeguards on duty, so exercise caution when swimming.

Visitors can enjoy swimming, snorkelling, and fishing in the calm waters of the bay.

There is no parking on Thevenard Island as it is only accessible by boat. Visitors can anchor their boats in the bay or take a tour to the island.

Fun fact: Thevenard Island is a popular destination for bird watching as it is home to a large number of bird species, including ospreys, black kites, and white-bellied sea eagles.

Visitors to Thevenard Island can also explore the nearby Ningaloo Reef, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the world's largest fringing reefs. The reef is home to over 500 species of fish, 300 species of coral, and a variety of marine mammals, including dolphins and humpback whales. Visitors can also hike on the island's nature trails, explore the local marine life on a diving or snorkelling excursion, or take a boat tour to explore the area's stunning coastline.

While there are no restaurants or hotels on Thevenard Island, visitors can find a variety of dining options and accommodations in the nearby town of Exmouth. Restaurants in the area serve a variety of cuisine, including fresh seafood and local specialties.
