Turners Beach is a small, serene town located on Tasmania's north coast, positioned between Devonport and Ulverstone. Its scenic shoreline along Bass Strait offers a beautiful blend of white sand beaches and pebbled areas. The town has a rich history, initially named Scott’s Beach, and later renamed in honor of Harry Vincent Glengyle Turner in 1961.
Visitors can enjoy the tranquil atmosphere and participate in activities such as surfing and fishing, though the river mouth can be treacherous for surfers. The area is also renowned for its wildlife, including platypus and eels.
The town hosts a Twilight Market every month, featuring local produce and artisans, adding to its community charm.
