Overview

Tallow Beach, also known as Tallows, is a stunning 6.5 km stretch of sandy beach located in Suffolk Park, near Byron Bay, New South Wales. It is part of Arakwal National Park and offers a wide, open space with consistent surf breaks and scenic views. This beach is ideal for activities like swimming, surfing, beach fishing, whale watching, and birdwatching. The scenic bridge between Cape Byron State Conservation Area and Broken Head Nature Reserve makes it a photographer's paradise.
The beach experiences stronger winds than Byron Bay, which generates heavier surf, making it suitable for surfers. However, it is important to note that while some sections are patrolled in summer, there can be dangerous rips along the beach.
Tallows beach also provides playgrounds, picnic areas, and barbecues at Gaggin Park, making it family-friendly and perfect for relaxation.
