Overview

Baratti is a charming hamlet in the municipality of Piombino, Tuscany, known for its stunning red sand beach and crystal clear waters. The beach is surrounded by a thick pine forest, offering a serene and picturesque environment. It is a popular spot for surfing and windsurfing, with a sailing school nearby. The area is steeped in history, with the Archaeological Park of Baratti and Populonia showcasing ancient Etruscan ruins, including necropolises and the remains of an acropolis.
The beach is accessed through a short walk from the parking area, passing through beautifully shaded pine trees. In the summer, it can be bustling, but in other seasons, it offers a more secluded and romantic atmosphere.
Baratti's proximity to Populonia, with its medieval village and Etruscan artifacts, adds to its cultural allure.
