Located on the shores of Half Moon Bay within the community of San Gregorio, San Gregorio Private Beach - also known as San Gregorio Nude Beach - is a small beige sand beach.  The beach is actually a smaller part of the famous San Gregorio State Beach, which is positioned on its northern end and is separated by a bluff.  It is important to note that the beach itself is a public beach, whereas the area surrounding the beach is private property.  It has an amazing backdrop of many grassy bluffs, cliffs, and sea caves, which together provide spectacular views of the rugged coastline of Northern California, especially during sunset.  The beach is managed by the California State Park System, which protects its natural and cultural resources, so we recommend abiding by park rules and regulations to preserve the environment.

San Gregorio Private Beach does not have lifeguards or any other amenities except restrooms.

San Gregorio Private Beach offers many fun activities, including swimming, sunbathing, fishing, picnicking, and tidepooling.   Swimming is not allowed here, as the water is known to have strong waves and unpredictable rip currents.  If you enjoy fishing, you may catch coho salmon and steelhead trout, but please make sure that you comply with the local fishing regulations.  If you enjoy tidepooling, you may spot an array of marine life, making it a fascinating spot for nature enthusiasts.  San Gregorio Private Beach is officially recognized as a nude beach – there is a designated clothing-optional area on the beach.  Depending on the time of year, visitors may spot whales, manatees, and dolphins.  This beach is ideal for visitors looking for a quieter experience, as it sees fewer visitors than other nearby beaches.  San Gregorio Private Beach does not welcome dogs as it is a nesting habitat for the western snowy plover and the beach is open from sunrise until sunset.

San Gregorio Private Beach does not offer an access path for people with disabilities.

Getting to San Gregorio Private Beach is easy - the beach has a large parking lot located at 20063 Cabrillo Highway 1 and provides easy access to the beach.
