Located in the city of Pescadero, Pescadero State Beach – South Beach is a beach with light-brown sand and small rocky coves and is part of a larger state-protected beach named Pescadero State Beach. A protected lagoon and wetlands are also present near the beach.

Getting to the Pescadero State Beach – South Beach is easy – the beach is located along Pacific Coast Highway / Cabrillo Highway and is situated around two miles south of another state-protected beach named Pomponio State Beach. There is a paid parking lot at the intersection of Cabrillo Highway / Pacific Coast Highway and Pescadero Creek Road. The beach is accessible via stairs from this parking lot's northern end.  

Attractions

There are many attractions near Pescadero State Beach – South Beach. Pescadero Marsh Nature Preserve is popular among wildlife watchers. You can see many animals and birds in this preserve including blue herons, deer, skunks, raccoons, foxes, and kites. Pescadero Marsh Natural Preserve features Sequoia Audubon Trail which is primarily used for hiking, walking, and bird watching. You can see many kinds of birds during hiking on this trail including double-crested cormorants, blue herons, and great egrets. If you are looking for another attraction near Pescadero State Beach- South Beach, Butano State Park features many hiking trails and offers guided nature walks and weekend campfire excursions during the summer. You can spot many kinds of wonderful animals and birds in the state park including woodpeckers and newts.

Restaurants

If you get hungry, there are many great restaurants within a 40 minute-drive of Pescadero State Beach – South Beach. Alice's Restaurant offers local and American cuisine and also serves vegetarian and gluten free options. They also feature an outdoor dining area. Parkside Grille serves American cuisine and also has a lavish ambiance. Apple Jacks serves delicious chicken salad, pork belly roast dip, and burgers. If you are looking for another good and affordable restaurant near Pescadero Point Beach, the modestly priced Portola Cafe Deli serves excellent pizzas and burgers.
