You can have a great time at the beach doing activities like swimming, surfing, and hiking – but be careful because high tides are frequent.

Encinitas Beach does not have its access – you can get here by walking south from Beacon’s Beach or north from Stone Steps Beach. There is free parking available along surface streets.

If you are looking for nearby attractions, San Diego Botanic Garden is a botanical garden that is an eight-minute drive away – it has been awarded ‘Readers’ Choice 2019’ and ‘Top 10 Botanic Gardens in North America’ awards by USA Today 10Best. Spread across 37 acres, it features the nation’s biggest bamboo collection and 29 uniquely themed gardens including, the well-known Hamilton Children’s Garden. Another option is driving six minutes to Encinitas Ranch Golf Course, an 18-hole beachfront golf course that has a driving range, golf shop, and restaurant. Pirate Shores is a kid-themed adventure park with various rides, entertainment shows, and special events, including fireworks and LEGOLAND at Christmas. Museum of Making Music is 12-minutes away highlighting, the music industry's history from 1990 through exhibitions, live performances, and educational programs. If you like shopping, Carlsbad Village has numerous antique and curio stores.

If you get hungry, you can drive six minutes to many nearby restaurants. Buona Forchetta – Encinitas is an Italian restaurant offering pies, burritos, pasta, salads, soups, wine, and beer along with special items for vegans.
