Overview

Located in the city of Valencia, Playa Port de Sagunt is a long, wide, and beige-colored sand beach that is rated among the best beaches in Valencia.  Also known as Playa Port de Sagunt Beach, Playa Port de Sagunt has been awarded the Blue Flag for its cleanliness.  The beach was named after the historic town of Sagunto which is located on a hill and is on the west side of the beach. 

Amenities

Playa Port de Sagunt offers many amenities including lifeguards, restrooms, showers, football fields, volleyball courts, open-air beach bars with beach chairs and canopy beds, and a promenade with palm trees, souvenir shops, and bike paths.  If you are looking for additional amenities, the southern end of the beach features dunes with vegetation.  The northern end of the beach is surrounded by palm trees and is a great picnicking spot.

Getting to Playa Port de Sagunt is very easy – there is a paid parking lot at Av. Mediterráneo, 46, 46520 Port de Sagunt, Valencia that is within walking distance to the beach.

Attractions

If you are looking for attractions near Playa Port de Sagunt, you can drive 17 minutes to Sagunto Castle - it is located on a hill, overlooks the town of Sagunto, and is divided into seven main plazas containing ruins from many ancient wars including the Second Punic War in 3rd Century BC and the Napoleonic War in 1811.  Aventura Valencia provides many adventure sports including paintball, climbing wall, sumo wrestling, yellow fighting ( a fight between two individuals who climb to an aerial ring and fight while balancing on the top of it), foosball, and a mechanical bull.  If you like performing arts, Sagunto Roman Theatre is located at the foothills of the Sierra Calderona Mountains and features modern theatrical and cultural events.  Another great attraction near Playa Port de Sagunt is Ruta Urban Art en Sagunto, an open-air museum that is located at Pje. Vicente Moliner, 6, 46520 Port de Sagunt, Valencia and organizes an urban art festival where local, national, and international artists paint on the walls and facades of the Sagunto and its port.

Restaurants

If you get hungry, there are many restaurants within a three-minute drive of Playa Port de Sagunt.  Restaurant Hong Long features spring rolls, pumpkin curry, coconut rice, basil chicken, salmon rolls, and crab meat noodles - and has Asian-themed modern decor and lighting.  Pulperia Terra Meiga offers seafood items, meat dishes, steaks, pastries, and soups in an outdoor seating with incredible sea views.  El Almirez Restaurante serves carnes, enchiladas, pescados, desserts, and drinks in a spacious dining room and a terrace where you can enjoy your meals overlooking the nearby areas of Valencia.  Another good restaurant near Playa Port de Sagunt is Restaurant FuKui, a Chinese restaurant that is a popular dining destination for locals and tourists, has an elegant and stylish decor, and has a nice menu including orange chicken, beef with broccoli, Kung Pao chicken, Peking duck, and soups.
