Overview

Located in the cosmopolitan city of Barcelona, Forum Beach is a small, wide, and beige colored beach which is also known as Playa del Forum.  Forum Beach is one of the most popular beaches in the neighborhood of La Barceloneta.  La Barceloneta hosted the 1992 Olympics Games which led to a radical transformation and growth in the tourism of this neighborhood and its beaches.  Forum Beach is located on the south side of the point where the Besos River meets the Balearic Sea.  Forum Beach has been awarded the Blue Flag for its cleanliness and is backed by a promenade that has many cafés, concession stands, and small souvenir shops.

Forum Beach offers many amenities including lifeguards, restrooms, showers, adapted restrooms and showers for disabled people, water sport equipment rentals, a kids’ play area, a volleyball court, and a designated nudist area.

Activities

There are many fun activities at Forum Beach including swimming, fishing, hiking, boating, kayaking, sailing, kitesurfing, windsurfing, sunbathing, and beach walking.  Please note that it is not advisable to swim here if a lifeguard is not present.

Getting to Forum Beach is very easy – there is a large paid parking lot that is located at Av. d'Eduard Maristany, 6, 08930 Sant Adrià de Besòs, Barcelona and after parking, you will need to walk three minutes east to get to the beach.

If you are looking for attractions near Forum Beach, you can drive six minutes to Aquarium Barcelona that contains 35 aquariums that are home to 11,000 animals representing 451 species including sharks, rays, penguins, and other large fish.  Picasso Museum is an art museum that houses an extensive collection of a total of 4,251 artworks by the very famous Spanish painter Pablo Picasso and was opened in 1963, becoming the first museum dedicated to the legendary painter’s work.  Barcelona Zoo is home to many plants and animals including pine oak, white mulberry, robinia, black howlers, brown bears, and red kangaroos - you can also watch sea lion feedings here.  If you are looking for another great attraction near Forum Beach, Arco de Triunfo de Barcelona is a historical triumphal arch-shaped monument that was the main gate access for the 1888 Barcelona World Fair and you can click Instagram-worthy pictures here.

There are many restaurants within a six-minute drive of Forum Beach.  Go Beach Club Barcelona is located next to Forum Beach  Beach and features waterside seating, a terrace with city views, friendly staff, and an extensive wine collection.  The restaurant is well-known for its calamari, mussels, octopus, fruitcakes, paella, and rice items.  Cantina Marina Seca is a very popular restaurant that is adjacent to Forum Beach  and offers amazing views of the beach and sea – it serves burgers, pizza, sandwiches, wraps, soup, cakes, and beverages.  Gabby’s Brunch serves soups, starters, bastilla, lamb, and pastries in an elegant setting with fine decor, warm lighting, tasteful furnishings, and art-decorated walls.  If you are looking for another good restaurant near Forum Beach, Koh has a nice menu including miso ramen, salmon, burgers, pasta, craft beer, and drinks.
