Overview

Located near the village of Sant Josep de sa Talaia on the southeastern coast of Ibiza, Playa d'en Bossa - also known as Bossa Beach - is a 2,700-meter-long and 40-meter-wide beige sand beach.   Playa d'en Bossa is recognized as the longest as well as most visited beach on Ibiza Island and has a beautiful backdrop of many oceanfront buildings, including restaurants, bars, hotels, shops, beach clubs, and a promenade, which together provide incredible views of the Mediterranean Coast.

The beach is divided into three main sections - the middle section of the beach is home to renowned beach clubs, bars, and restaurants and is considered the busiest part of the beach.  The southern end of the beach is much wider and provides a quieter beach experience, while the northern end of the beach features a short promenade with reasonably priced beach bars and connects to a small harbor from where ferries run to the nearby resort of Figueretas and to Ibiza Town

Activities

Playa d'en Bossa offers many fun activities, including swimming, sunbathing, beachcombing, kayaking, boating, paddle boarding, jet skiing, parasailing, banana boating, boat parties, and hiking.  The beach is a perfect place to go swimming, as the waves are usually calm.  The water near the beach is shallow, making it ideal for kayaks, canoes, and small boats.  In addition, visitors can also rent kayaks, canoes, jet skis, boats, catamarans, and other adventure tours.  To make reservations, visit online.  During the daytime, visitors can also enjoy boat parties, which all depart from the jetty positioned at the northern end of the beach.  It attracts snorkelers, who can explore the unique marine ecosystems and biodiversity of the region. 

Playa d'en Bossa is a perfect place to enjoy nightlife on the island of Ibiza, as it is home to the most famous nightclubs, including Ushuaia, Hi Ibiza, Bora Bora, Sankeys, and Nassau Beach Club, which host world-famous DJ events and parties, especially during the summer season.  World-famous DJs including Carl Cox, Paul Oakenfold, Sasha, Erick Morillo, Groove Armada, Danny Tenaglia, Robbie Rivera, David Guetta, Martin Garrix, and Kygo frequently perform here.  The beach attracts a large influx of visitors due to its convenient location.  In addition, visitors can also explore hippie market stalls selling clothes, jewelry, and souvenirs on the main paved street in the evening.  Dogs are not allowed here, and the beach is open from sunrise until sunset

Playa d'en Bossa offers an access path for people with disabilities.  Visitors can also request lifeguards to provide the amphibious wheelchairs, crutches, and a key to access the toilet for people with disabilities

Parking

Getting to Playa d'en Bossa is easy - it has many street parking spots located near Carrer Esclava Maria Flores, 4, which provides easy access to the beach.  Alternatively, there is another large paid parking lot positioned at Carrer de les Begonias, 23, which also provides easy access to the beach.

The beach can also be reached by apublic bus (line L14), which stops near the beach.

Fun Fact

Playa d'en Bossa Beach is where the popular band Rolling Stones famously recorded their 1989 album Steel Wheels, and the album cover photo for Steel Wheels was taken on the beach at Playa d'en Bossa, which turned out great and became an iconic image of the band.  Playa d'en Bossa is still known today as the spot where the Stones created one of their classic album covers.  This is why Playa d'en Bossa Beach is often referred to as "Rolling Stones Beach" because of its connection to the iconic rock band

Attractions

There are many attractions near Playa d'en Bossa. Dalt Vila is a historic town positioned on a hill on the island of Ibiza, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea.  It is famous for its Renaissance walls and fortifications with military cannons and tunnels, which were built in the 16th century to protect the town from pirate attacks.  In the present, this town offers a variety of restaurants, nightclubs, art galleries, and shops where visitors can buy trinkets and handicrafts from the region and enjoy authentic Balearic food.  Ibiza Cathedral, also known as the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Snows, was built in the 13th century in the Catalan Gothic style and is distinguished by its pointed arches, ribbed vaults, and flying buttresses.  It has a square-shaped bell tower known as the Torre de les Hores, which dominates the Ibiza skyline.  Ibiza Museum of Contemporary Art is a small museum that showcases the artwork of local and international artists.  The museum exhibits a permanent collection, which includes the collection of the artist whose artwork is greatly influenced by the island of Ibiza. Castle of Ibiza is located at the top of the fortified Upper Town, which features numerous buildings, including the Tower of Homage, the 8th-century Almudaina, the governor's home, and the 18th-century infantry barracks.  Visitors can explore the castle grounds and enjoy incredible views.  In addition, it hosts various events and cultural activities throughout the year, including music festivals, art exhibitions, and historical reenactments.  If you are looking for another nearby attraction, Sa Conillera Lighthouse is an 85-meter-high lighthouse situated on the southwestern coast of Ibiza on a small, rocky islet that navigates ships safely along the western coastline of the island and offers incredible views

If you get hungry, there are many great restaurants right on the Playa d'en Bossa.  Ushuaia Ibiza is an upscale beach club with outdoor seating areas that serves incredible oysters, salads, steaks, seafood, meat, poultry dishes, and desserts.  Nassau Beach Club is another beach club that serves amazing Mediterranean-Asian fusion cuisine, including seafood, meat, and poultry dishes.  La Dona serves salads, burgers, sandwiches, steaks, seafood, meat, and poultry dishes.  Los Rosales Restaurante is a beachfront restaurant that serves salads, seafood, meat, pork, beef, and poultry dishes.  If you are looking for another good and affordable nearby restaurant, Restaurante Parasoles is a beachfront Mediterranean restaurant that serves sandwiches, fajitas, pizzas, salads, steaks, seafood, meat, and poultry dishes
