Overview

Located in the small town of Donostia-San Sebastian, Agiti Hondartza is a one-mile-long, wide, and beige-colored beach that is situated in front of the Bay of Artia Senotia.  Also known as Agiti Hondartza Beach, Agiti Hondartza is next to the mouth of the river Iranguen Erreka.  Agiti Hondartza is surrounded by mountains and backed by a pedestrian promenade featuring a few small souvenir shops.  

Amenities

Agiti Hondartza offers many amenities including lifeguards, restrooms, showers, water sport equipment rentals, handicap accessible stairways, and a playground.  Agiti Hondartza is an awesome spot for water sport activities including canoeing and windsurfing and the beach features a special structure in the waters with trampolines and slides during summer. 

Activities

There are many other fun activities at Agiti Hondartza including swimming, surfing, diving, jet-skiing, spearfishing, angling, sunbathing, and beach walking.  

Parking

Getting to Agiti Hondartza is very easy – the beach is located at the end of Agiti Bidea Road and there are a few free street parking spots along the road.  After parking, you will need to walk three minutes west to get to the beach.

Attractions

If you are looking for attractions near Agiti Hondartza, you can drive 12 minutes to Parque de Atracciones Monte Igueldo, a mountainside amusement park with bumper cars, a great maze, pond boats, turtle races, elastic beds, and bird exhibits.  San Telmo Museum is a museum of the Basque society and is home to artifacts related to the history of old and contemporary Basque culture.  Aquarium San Sebastian is a seaside aquarium showcasing exhibits on local fishing and naval history and is home to many sea creatures including jellyfish, great white sharks, captive killer whales, rockfishes, African penguins, and the Pacific Sea nettles.  Another great attraction near Agiti Hondartza is Gipuzkoa Plaza that is a leafy city park that is located at Gipuzkoa Plaza, 10, 20004 Donostia, Gipuzkoa, was created by a French gardener, and has a meteorological monument, lush planting, and ponds. 

Restaurants

If you get hungry, there are many restaurants within a 10-minute drive of Agiti Hondartza.  Espazio Oteiza is a fine dining restaurant that offers amazing views of the beach and sea – it serves burgers, pizza, sandwiches, wraps, soup, cakes, and beverages.  Restaurante Akelarre | Pedro Subijana features waterside seating, a terrace with city views, friendly staff, and an extensive wine collection. The restaurant is well-known for its calamari, mussels, octopus, fruitcakes, paella, and rice items.  Txapela Taberna serves soups, starters, bastilla, lamb, and pastries in an elegant setting with fine decor, warm lighting, tasty furnishings, and art-decorated walls.  Another good restaurant near Agiti Hondartza is La Mila Milanesa that has a nice menu including pizza, pies, burgers, pasta, and drinks.  La Mila Milanesa uses the freshest ingredients, a variety of toppings, and freshly baked dough for all its dishes.
